Job Title: In-Game Show Manager (January - July)
Job Summary: The In-Game Show Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of pre-game, in-game, halftime, and post-game entertainment for Albany Firebirds home games. As the In-Game Show Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling aspects of the gameday entertainment setup, timing of performances, and overseeing the gameday operations under the supervision of the Director of Gameday Operations. This position oversees all elements of proper execution concerning on-field performances, in-game promotions, and fan engagement tactics for all Firebirds home games.
You will be compensated on a per-game basis for your role in coordinating and executing game day entertainment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide production and operational support to the Director of Gameday Operations during all Firebirds home games at MVP Arena.
- Assist and participate during rehearsals, including soundchecks, opening introductions, in-game promotions, concourse activations, pre-game ceremonies, and group activities.
- Oversee the gameday entertainment and manage a team of gameday operations interns to ensure a seamless and exciting fan experience."
- Contribute to the planning and execution of in-game promotions, halftime shows, and interactive activities that engage fans.
- Coordinate with vendors, talent, players, executives, and guests to successfully execute all scripted and improvised elements.
- Act as the primary liaison for preparing, coordinating, and executing gameday entertainment items.
- Ensure all pre-game, in-game, and post-game entertainment elements occur promptly and are executed accurately.
- Brief all performers on the timing and execution of their acts to ensure a smooth flow of events.
- Maintain a detailed timeline of entertainment events, including cue points for music, announcements, and performances.
- Assist gameday staff in finding and securing contestants for in-game entertainment activations and promotions.
- Work with the Director of Gameday Operations to ensure all prizes and materials for promotions or activities are correct, present, and properly distributed/stored.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be available to work ALL Albany Firebirds home games at MVP Arena, including nights and weekends, beginning up to 6 hours prior to game time.
- Present yourself in a professional manner in both appearance and behavior.
- Maintain a positive attitude and manage stress effectively in high-pressure environments.
- Proactively identify and address operational challenges that arise during gamedays.
- Ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines, and work efficiently in fast-paced environments.
- Outstanding interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to remain professional and calm when communicating with others.
- Strong team player with a focus on an “above and beyond” work ethic.
- Must be 18+ years of age.
- Must be a United States citizen.
- Must be a high school graduate.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds at a time.
- Current college student or previous experience in Sports Management, Live Event Management, or relevant production/coordination is preferred.
- Knowledge of football is preferred.
