Albany Firebirds Announce First Five Player Signings for Upcoming Season

The Albany Firebirds are pleased to announce the signing of five players for the upcoming season as we prepare to compete in Arena Football One (AF1) starting in spring 2025. These signings represent a key step in building a strong roster for the season ahead.

1. Jonathon MacCollister (Re-Signed) – Defensive Line

Jonathon MacCollister returns to the Firebirds after playing in Albany last season. A product of UCF and Notre Dame, MacCollister has become a reliable force on the defensive line. Known for his ability to disrupt offensive plays and lead by example, his presence on the field is a key asset for the team. 2. Jamall Hickbottom (Re-Signed) – Defensive Line

Trevon Shorts, a fan favorite and key linebacker, has been with Albany since 2021 and played last season, winning two championships with the team.
