Albany Firebirds Announce Signing of Defensive Lineman Mohamed Diallo

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Albany, N.Y. — Wednesday, October 15, 2026 — Since the start of the AF1 re-signing period in mid-September, the Albany Firebirds have re-signed five key players from their 2026 roster, including one quarterback, three wide receivers and one defensive lineman. Today, the Firebirds are proud to announce their first new signing of the offseason, defensive lineman Mohamed Diallo!

Born in Toronto, Diallo played college football at Texas A&M, Central Michigan and Arizona. During his collegiate career, he recorded more than 60 tackles and 7.5 sacks while earning First-Team All-MAC honors in 2020. When he committed to Texas A&M in 2018, he chose the Aggies over offers from Fresno State, Kansas, Ole Miss and Oregon, according to Texas A&M.

Following his collegiate career, Diallo was selected by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the third round (19th overall) of the 2021 Canadian Football League (CFL) Draft. He played for Hamilton from 2022 through the 2023 season, recording 17 total tackles and two sacks.

With experience competing at both the collegiate and professional levels, Diallo brings valuable experience to the Firebirds' defensive line as the team prepares for the 2027 season and its pursuit of another Arena Crown title.
