Albany Firebirds Re-Sign Defensive Lineman Prince Umanmielen for 2026 Season

The Albany Firebirds are excited to announce that defensive lineman Prince Umanmielen will be returning for the 2026 season. Umanmielen joined the Firebirds late in the 2025 season but quickly became a key contributor on the defensive line, playing a major role in helping the team capture the championship.

The AF1 Re-Signing Period is officially underway, giving teams the chance to retain their rostered players until 11:59 PM on September 15th. Umanmielen’s return strengthens an already dominant defensive unit as Albany prepares for another championship run. Players not re-signed by the deadline will become free agents.

Umanmielen’s impact in the second half of last season was immediate and significant, and Firebirds fans can look forward to seeing him back in action for the 2026 campaign.
