Albany Firebirds Announce Re-Signing of Offensive Lineman Joshua Zacher

Albany, N.Y. – Wednesday, November 4 – The Arena Football One (AF1) offseason has been going strong across the league, with teams bringing in new faces and familiar ones as the 2027 season quickly approaches. This week, the Firebirds are proud to announce the re-signing of Offensive Lineman Joshua Zacher for the 2027 season.

Zacher will enter his third professional football season, all of which have been spent in Albany. He has been a strong presence on the offensive line and a reliable option at fullback, appearing in more than 20 games over the past two seasons.

In 2025, Zacher was an instrumental part of the Firebirds' undefeated Arena Crown Championship run, appearing in all 12 games as an offensive lineman. In 2026, he took on an expanded role, stepping in at fullback and recording 45 rushing yards and one touchdown while continuing to contribute on the offensive line.

The Firebirds are excited to welcome Josh back for his third consecutive season in Albany and look forward to what he will bring to the team in 2027.

With Zacher's signing, the Firebirds have now signed eight players for the 2027 season. He also becomes the first offensive lineman signed by Albany this offseason.
